A MILLION FAULTLINES !

Making sense of contemporary India.

Making sense of a country as vivid and as dynamic as India is a herculean and challenging task. India has multiple interpretations as well as multiple representations. A peculiar feature of India and specifically its description is the absence of any semblance of absolutism or universalism. On the contrary, the only thing which can be said with certainty about India is that nothing here is certain. Every claim made about India can be falsified by another counter-claim. India is, in essence, a land of myriad contradictions.

It is my endeavour to explore and make sense of these contradictions, to the extent my capabilities permit. Since the spread, breadth and depth of my enquiry is a bottom-less and a borderless sea, the extractions are bound to be diverse and multiple. However, not all that is extracted is always valuable. Value-addition in the economic sense of the term is reducing waste and increasing utility. Since in my explorations and discoveries I am bound to make mistakes in my approaches, inferences as well as my conclusions. I am hopeful, whatever raw analysis I am able to collate, analyze and present will be enriched by your valuable feedback, appreciation, dissent as well as disagreements. With this end in mind, I welcome you to join me in this intellectual pursuit of making sense of the multiple shades of the rich mosaic, that is India with the lens of 21st century realities.
